Dr Naomi Scott

Consultant clinical psychologist

I work with individuals, couples and groups, and facilitate regular skills workshops, to promote psychological wellbeing and resilience. I use evidence-based therapy techniques to help people live their lives with greater ease and move towards the things that matter to them.

I also offer supervision to mental health professionals.

I work with adults across the spectrum of psychological problems. Some problems may resolve after a few sessions. Others will require longer-term therapy, sometimes because of traumatic life events, that can be thought about and worked on together. I draw on a range of therapy approaches in my work, primarily acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and compassion-focused therapy (CFT). I work collaboratively with people to identify habitual patterns of thinking and behaviour that are keeping them stuck, and work towards cultivating inner resources and skills for a more fulfilling life that can be lived with greater ease.

I qualified as a clinical psychologist in 1999 from University College London. Since then I have worked in private practice and the NHS, including management and consultation to frontline multi-disciplinary mental health staff and involvement with innovative service development initiatives.

I am registered with the British Psychological Society and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and I am an accredited cognitive behaviour therapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

In 2016, I co-founded Scott Whiteley. Our shared intention is to offer high quality, safe and respectful private therapy to individuals and couples seeking a place to work through their difficulties. I regularly host workshops for practising evidence-based exercises that promote psychological flexibility, resilience and enhanced wellbeing.

Dr Christopher Whiteley

Consultant clinical psychologist

Drawing on a range of tried and tested psychological approaches I offer clients a tailored and effective way to achieve the changes that enhance day-to-day life and develop the flexibility to move forward, being open to the possibilities ahead. Working with common, and more complex psychological problems, I work using acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and compassion-focused therapy (CFT) to enable clients to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Using my training and experience to build a comfortable space and a sense of hope, clients can bring a range of feelings, patterns of behaviour and life problems into therapy. My specialist areas of practice include substance use problems and working with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity.

I qualified as a clinical psychologist from University College London in 1998 and have more than 20 years of NHS and private practice experience. I have worked with individuals, families and groups in London’s diverse communities and across the full spectrum of psychological problems. I work as a senior leader of NHS mental health services. I have also worked within the university and medico-legal sectors, employee assistance programmes and central government health policy.

I am a registered psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am an associate fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), and an accredited cognitive behaviour therapist, supervisor and trainer with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I have been a clinical associate with Pink Therapy, the UK’s largest independent therapy organisation working with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity clients.

I am a consultant clinical psychologist, trainer and supervisor. In my work I help individuals, couples, groups and organisations move towards what matters most to them among the struggles and pressures that come with a fulfilling life. I use modern evidenced-based therapies ensuring effective treatment clients have confidence in.

Dr Matthew Jones-Chesters

Consultant neuropsychologist

Matthew is Health and Care Professions Council-registered, and has worked in the NHS, higher education and private practice since the mid-1990s.

Matthew obtained a PhD in psychology from the University of Cambridge, and a professional doctorate in clinical psychology from University College London. An experienced medico-legal expert and private medical insurance (PMI) healthcare provider, Matthew is skilled in working for Employee Assistance Programmes (EPA)s, re-insurance and fitness-for-work.

He is nationally recognised as an expert in working cross-culturally with clients and their families. As the academic lead for the clinical psychology training programme at the University of East London, Matthew brings additional skills in supervision and consultation.

We also undertake continued professional development (CPD) on a regular basis to ensure that we are always up-to-date with ongoing scientific research and practice.
